About this vehicle

The E46 Coupé is the shape that made BMW's reputation for a generation. This one — a 1999 328Ci in Titanium Silver Metallic over black leather — arrived in exactly the condition that makes a car worth keeping: honest, unmodified, and mechanically sound.

The 2.8-litre M52TÜ straight-six pulls cleanly from idle, the ZF five-speed manual slots with that particular short-throw precision that later cars never quite matched, and the rear-wheel drive chassis rewards with a balance that modern electronics have mostly erased from memory.

This car will not be modified. The goal is to keep it exactly as it left Munich — better maintained than it left Munich.

Full cooling system refresh

Replaced the expansion tank, thermostat housing, all auxiliary water hoses, and the serpentine belt tensioner. The classic E46 preventive list — plastic fittings that will crack eventually, so better to get ahead of them.

While the front end was apart, the power steering rack was inspected and found perfect. Coolant flush completed with BMW Antifreeze concentrate.

Acquired

Found privately via an enthusiast forum. Single owner since 2003, full service history from a BMW main dealer up to 2019 and a specialist since. 148,000 km — entirely believable given the condition.

Paint is original with no resprays. One stone chip on the bonnet edge, invisible at any distance. Interior shows light wear on the driver's bolster, nothing more. Decision took about an hour.
